What is Wordle Hard Mode?
In Hard Mode, Wordle adds extra constraints to your guesses. Any letter that turns green must remain in that exact position in all subsequent guesses. Any letter that turns yellow must be included in your next guess (somewhere). Letters marked gray should not be reused.
This makes the puzzle significantly harder because you can't use "throwaway" guesses to test new letters. Our Hard Mode Solver respects all these constraints and only suggests valid hard-mode guesses.
Hard Mode Strategy Tips
- Start with high-entropy words like CRANE or SLATE
- After guess 1, you have fewer options – choose wisely
- Position-locking becomes critical in Hard Mode
- Watch out for words with double letters – they're harder to solve in Hard Mode
